Velo Runner 500 Ride With Us Summer 2018

Introducing a new event for 2018 - the “Velo 500” challenge rides.

Here's another great reason to ride with Velo Runner as we are organising 4 great summer outings totalling 500k. Complete them all and receive a limited edition VR 500 top, cap and goodie bag - open to all club members free of charge. If you're not yet a member then sign up soon and don’t miss out.

The first ride commences with the classic Llangollen Run 160 kilometres.

This is a great club ride for all abilities - nice and flat and a great way to stretch the legs. Cafe stop half way in Llangollen, beers at the Wayfarer on return to Stone.

Sunday 29th April 08:00 from the Velo Store, approximate return 14:00

The second ride introduces some hills, 100 kilometres into the Peak District, taking in classic climbs such as Ipstones, Blackshaw Moor, Gunhill. A cafe stop at Tittersworth Reservoir. This is a great ride to test climbing legs after the Minorca training camps.

Saturday 19th May 09:00 from the Velo Store, approximate return 13:00

Our third ride takes in the amazing scenery of the Iron Bridge Gorge 120 kilometres of rolling country side. Cafe stop in Iron Bridge before a climb back out up Jiggers Bank. A great club ride and another 100k under the belt.

Saturday 9th June 09:00 from the Velo Store, approximate return 13:00

The forth and final ride will be a trip to Jodrell Bank 120 kilometres through the Cheshire country side. Cafe stop at Jodrell Bank and you may even see stars twice as we are heading back up the Mow Cop Kill Mile! Sunday 15th July leaving the Velo Store at 08:00, approximate return 14:00

All 'Velo 500' rides will be lead by a qualified ride leader and qualified velotech mechanic so you have no worries about break downs or getting lost. Everyone is required to bring their own spares which should include; pump; inner tube x 2; c02 multi tool; gels and money for the cafe.
