End of an era...The Last TNR
Goodbye TNR Halloween style and hello to our new Wednesday night MTB ride. Read on to find out what on earth's going on.
It's been one of our longest standing events with staff, customers and friends of VeloRunner and CTL heading out on their mountain bikes no matter what the weather. We've rode through heatwaves, rain (some claim monsoons), thunderstorms, deep snow and of course lots of mud over the years. With the Tuesday Night Ride running for so many years we have seen many faces come and join us of all ages and abilities with the same desire to have a couple hours mountain biking on local trails.
There's nothing wrong with riding on a Tuesday night but we are always looking at different ways to get more people involved by trying new ideas and events - take a look at how much the shop has changed over the last few years! We have gone from being an out and out cycle shop to now being a much more diversified brand and service. VeloRunner now caters for cyclists, runners and anything that falls in between the two, there is now a solid customer base of runners, mountain bikers, road cyclists, TT riders, triathletes and many more! So, to keep things fresh and to mix it up a bit we will be ending the TNR with the last ride on 30th October 2018.
It's not goodbye though as we will be starting our midweek MTB ride on Wednesday nights. It will work in the same format as before with us alternating between Cannock Chase and our favourite local trails departing at 6pm. This will be with Cannock as a more trail focussed ride on off piste trails and our local ride in more of an XC style whilst still hitting some fantastic trails. All of this including a few rides somewhere different through the year. We're hoping to see plenty of our Tuesday regulars back out as well as some new faces who will be able to ride on a Wednesday.
Now we can't let the TNR disappear without a proper send off so we will be doing a special ride for the last Tuesday. It falls on the night before halloween and we will be riding up the Chase, so there will be a competition for best halloween costumes with a small prize awarded to the best one. Last year Cameron suffered his way round in a costume shivering all the way and may or may not have ended up in the undergrowth after an outfit induced fall...as well as some suspiciously good face painting by Mark and Andy but sadly no photo evidence of that one!
So join us on Tuesday 30th October 6pm at the Clifford Arms for our last ever TNR, best dressed might even get a free drink or two out of it. And then join us for our first ever midweek ride on Wednesday 7th November. Keep an eye on Facebook for event details!
*A big thanks to Nick Sigley for sharing his stunning shots of the TNR over the years*
