Open up a world of discovery on two wheels and Learn to Ride in a controlled safe and happy environment. Our instructors will help you to start riding and help you progress to safely riding on your own. Bikes can be provided for the course. Frequently Asked Questions What is the Capability Fund? The Capability Fund is revenue funding from the Department for Transport given to Staffordshire County Council for Active Travel – promoting walking and cycling. What can we offer? Adult Cycle Training, Bike Maintenance and maintenance training, led cycle rides and led walks – including Women Only Walks (WoW). Where? Burton and Stafford town centres How is it funded? Staffordshire County Council have contracted Cyclist Training Limited to deliver the above. What is the aim? The aim is to get people out of cars and encourage them to walk or cycle short journeys. This will help improve their health, reduce congestion and improve air quality. Where can I find out more? Get INTO Cycle Training - Staffordshire County Council How will this be promoted? This will be promoted on the CTL and Staffordshire County Council websites and social media. As this is funded through the Department for Transport there are strict rules about promotion. Any publicity needs to say where the funding has come through and to make it consistent should be branded in the INTO style. Where should we signpost people to after the training? Led rides – these are currently on offer from Shobnall, Stafford area to be arranged How to search for Cycling UK clubs and rides Walking programmes – Burton & Stafford Walking for Health sites Surveys – stress how important the survey information is – have copies of word doc printed ask clients to complete there and then – these are then passed to us for uploading.   Mention that someone will be contacting them for follow up questions.
